Application Procedure

South Korea Application Procedure (2026 Intake)

Track A — GKS Embassy Track (Most Common)

  1. Application through Indian Embassy (Month 1–2): Apply through the Korean Embassy in Delhi or the Korean Consulate in Mumbai/Chennai. Submit GKS application form, academic records, personal statement, and recommendations.
  2. Written Test & Interview (Month 2–3): Korean Embassy screens candidates. Some applicants are invited for interview. ILOC provides full mock preparation.
  3. University Matching (Month 3–5): Successful GKS candidates list 3 preferred universities. NIIED (National Institute for International Education) matches candidates to institutions.
  4. Korean Language Training (Month 6): All GKS scholars attend 1 year of Korean language training before academic studies begin. ILOC provides pre-departure language preparation.
  5. D-2 Visa & Arrival (Month 6–7): ILOC handles Certificate of Admission, ARC pre-registration, and arrival setup in Korea.

Track B — University Direct Application

  1. Apply directly to KAIST, SNU, Yonsei, or Korea University via their international admission portals
  2. ILOC prepares application package: transcripts, SOP, research proposal, recommendation letters
  3. Obtain D-2 Student Visa through Korean Consulate in India
